yes, it is mucho' tough stuff! Its crazy to me that in such a little space he could fit so much important stuff!
ReplyDeleteI think the 2 parts that stuck out to me the most is 1. at the beginning when he talks about counting your temptation joy. and not just joy... but all joy. There isn't any room for being partly joyful with your suffering.
2. verses 5-7 when he talks about asking and receiving, and only receiving if you have faith that you will. (its kinda like asking God to show you something because then you will believe and do His work... but instead you should believe in him and do His work and then he will show you something)
I have heard this many times before. and I don't know about you, but sometimes I get stuck thinking that prayer doesn't work... I know in my heart that it does. Knowing it in my heart doesn't help much when I let my head take over (which I think is the natural tendency) So yeah... thats what I liked and was challenged by last night!
Laura,
ReplyDeleteVery insightful! Your right we are to believe no matter the circumstance, Just as it says on the hall wall at church!
A key is to count it all joy not after the trial but through it!
My batttery is dying, I will finish later gater

yeah... it seems like we use hind sight a lot. But don't always see the blessings as they come!
