Blazing Center Study Guide Day 1

Good evening Heartbeatians, this is the first daily study out of many to come in the next 8 weeks as we dig deeper into the Blazing Center.

These questions are intended to prepare you for Heartbeat's lesson next week! So, answer them, blog them, think about them, ask about them, wrestle, paint, chisel, and engrave these questions and answers in your hearts! So a new heartbeat begins!

Question #1
Do you desire to be happy? How do you know? How does your happiness figure into your daily decisions? Record your reflections.

Question #2
What does the phrase "the glory of God" bring to your mind first? What does "the glory of God" have to do with you?

What is God Passionate About?

Very few people ask what God is passionate about. But isn't this one of the most important questions that you can ask!

-Pastor James

  1. Well, just to throw my 2 cents out there. I am reading a book called The pleasures of God, by john piper (which James so kindly let me borrow) and it talkes about this some. God is passionate about himself! Everything that he does is to bring glory to his name.
I also think that he has a passion/love for us that is greater then we can imagain! But that is because of his pleasure in his name, and in his creation etc..

  2. This doesn't have anything to do with The Blazing Centre, but it was something that I read last night. Something that I liked is Psalms 26:12: My foot stands on level ground;in the great assembly I will bless the LORD. The 2nd part is really cool. The great assembly could be anywhere with a lot of people. There could be other Christians, or you might be the only one, but whatever the case, we are called to praise God, even in big groups and somewhat scary situations.

  4. I'm doing 2 different devotionals and going through my Bible. I'm doing My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers and The Beauty and the Mystery by Clayton and Charie King. I'm also reading through Isaiah and reading some Psalms every night.
